Anyone who owns a CRD and does their own maintenance and repairs should own one of these test kits IMHO, particularly if you've done 160,000km plus.

Pretty cheap tool these days and it can tell you a lot about what is happening.

Sounds like you have a battery problem, do you have another you can jumper up to see if this fixes the problem?

Looks good for the price Bodgie. How do they connect to the injectors cause I thought I had seen a pic of someone doing a home made job with bottles and hoses which I assume just pushed on.

As I hoped it turned out it was the battery, wouldn't jump start so ended up at 12.3V after 15 hrs on charger (o/night) engine turns over but wouldn't fire up, even jumping it, so picked up a new one, got a load test done on the old bugger and it was only half it's normal crank power, new one at first wouldn't start it, only 12.5v but gave it a short turn after the glows then hit it again with a real long crank and away she went. (was getting into near panic mode though) Went for a run to Toowoomba (with a box of matches in pocket) and all is well. Till next time.

Like that injector set, hope it's good as I've bought one.

You can get rubber grommets in that size from clark rubber.
Btw, you compared the injector return flow to specs I hope, otherwise it could be a worn high pressure pump still.

The kit comes with adapters to suit Bosch, Denso and Siemans injectors, essentially the same part as the fuel return line connectors only in brass.

You could probably make something that will work but for $35 delivered why bother.

I'll be wondering over to Clark Rubber shortly by the sounds on things.

I can't ever recall seeing a spec for leak back volume. All of the injectors should be the same, when you see results like mine you have a problem. Number one or the smallest volume of diesel is what should be seen.

The HP pump and the fuel pressure regulators are both new so I'm pretty happy it isn't these devices now I've done the leak back test.
