id recommend a mig over stick for ease of use no changing electrodes, no striking an ark, no chipping off the slag, no need to wire brush (unless ur ******
just weld it chip off the spatter (can buy a spatter pray to eliminate most of this) u may not even bother with that anyway but i do, then paint it.
u dont have to get a big one about 180amps will do just about all ul need it to but stick to a reputable brand and get the one with the highest duty cycle.
personally i like: lincoln, BOC, WIA, CIG, Kempie, migomeg, go-jeep has a unimig and has no issues with it at all i had one and didnt like it at all never worked right since day dot. however i may have just gotten a bad egg.
