A little bit off topic but in NSW - I'd owned my black/white plates for 30 years plus, I put them on hold while I sold one Jeep to go to another, When I went to retrieve them they wouldn't let me as they were too faded (which they were). In order to get identical replaced they wanted to charge me $490 (as they were special order) plus the holding fee which I think was $90. After some "assertive" discussion "right manager" they brought this down a bit but still it cost a motza to get back same style. So lesson, get them painted before you put them on hold.

Tas has $295 as a one off fee for slim line plates. Was on special for $190 when I got mine. 3 No. / 3 letter either way round lots of colours.
No USA option but the slim rear plate fits just above the tow hitch.
Probably not legal from the 45 deg above angle requirement but I've had no issues to date even on the mainland.
I run a couple of LED number plate bolts for illumination.
Slim plates front and rear suited mountings for me.

If anyone needs it I have the mopar relocation bracket with mounting hardware and most of the harness (I reused the plug), I'm happy to give it away so you only need to pay postage.
