I just don't know what to expect never having owned a diesel or auto 4wd. I'm sure a test drive will answer some questions but create more.

I believe its the same one I look at a few weeks ago at auction, its was a repo and had an ABS fault, they wanted 7k for it, so the yard price seems not to bad.

Darren, are you the guy from Aztec?
How much do you charge for an on site inspection?
At the moment the budget is up to $10,000 as this will be our 3rd car for off-road use and not a daily driver. What prices are the 2 you speak of.
I was chatting with my wife earlier about the car saying I would like her to have a look at it because if she liked it and would use it as a daily driver I would get a newer low km one.

Aztech 4x4, Yes thats me, but shhhhh...
Normally I charge $160 for on site inspections, but again as u are a "ausjeepoffroad member" its $100.
$10k budget, hrmmm I have a nice 2001 Discovery 2 TD5 for sale that would walk all over a KJ offroad haha..... I'm soooo the salesman today!
The tidy KJ CRD you need to ask Dissociative about as its his vehicle, he is only selling it as he wants a "bush basher"... a XJ (good grief) I did try to talk him out of it, but he does seem to have this thing in his head for a crap ol XJ (go figure huh?).
The other one with the cooked head, well I haven't made up my mind if I want to buy it yet or let someone else.....
Regards
Daz
P.S and as for the wife driving it....pfft, who does that?? (ohhh I am going to so regret that comment)

Pm me your number and I will give you a ring tomorrow. How much notice do you usually need to do an inspection?
Thanks
Greg

Hahaha, I told my wife about the XJ plan today and showed her a picture of one, she said she wouldn't be caught dead in that 80's American junk and wants to keep the KJ! I must admit, getting out of the XJ and back into the KJ CRD was chalk and cheese, bit it's not on road manners I want it for..

Speaking as someone who drives a late 2006 CRD manual I must respectfully disagree with that statement!
Only the auto version was sold in the US, which is why clutch parts etc are best sourced from the UK.
