Hi Glugglug
On the passenger side under the bonnet way down in the back corner you'll fine a grommet that will go thru the firewall and exit behind the glovebox cheers

My Uniden 8060S base unit is bolted to a spare bracket under the seat with wiring direct to the nearby battery. The mike cable runs behind the centre console and appears near the front of that. I don't have a mike hook affixed to anything yet. The double sided tape that I was using doesn't want to stick to the dash. So it sits in one of the cup holders.

Antenna is on a "z" bracket as shown in one of the posts above. There's a grommet in the firewall on the left side which I popped out and cut a slit in and fed the cable through that, put it in place and a bit of silicon to reseal it.

Reception and audio quality isn't that good. Everytime someone transmits they sound crackly. Might be the antenna which came with the radio (a caravan show "special").

9 times out of 10 with reception issues, it's the antenna.

Did you make the bracket yourself or have it made?

Nicjak,

Thanks for posting up the additional pics.

That's a beautifully engineered bracket - did you purchase it or make it yourself? If purchased, where from?

Cheers,
