It's not just a jeep thing. My work ute is a new 79 series cruiser and the esp on that will still cut power to the engine when the traction control is off and to make matters even worse the traction control turns itself back on when you hit 50kph. The new hiluxes are the same, as soon as the tail steps out of line power is killed. And on a mine site where it is frequently muddy it makes them terrible to drive. And let's not even mention the abs on a muddy road.
