A catch can, can be a good thing but you're not likely to see a significant benefit until you thoroughly clean the inlet tract.

The Provent 200 fits pretty easily, the flashlube can, would be easier to install though as it's smaller.

Fortunately the intake doesn't seem unduly clogged. Jeep runs well, no smoke and the emissions are all well withing limits. Just as well as getting the intake off looks like a major job.

The catch can is more a case of stopping things deteriorating any further.

Removing the inlet manifold is a big, crappy job. Been there done that and don't recommend it unless you absolutely need to.

Run some EGR inlet manifold cleaner through it too, can only help longer term.

I too wouldn't remove it again. Liqui Moly makes some intake manifold cleaner, it's a pretty good solvent and the presentation video shows a 2.7 Mercedes.

Yep. Did it to mine a month or so ago. It's gone from visible smoke at full noise/full RPM to a light haze.
