How come so cheap, is it a brand new one or Reco, seems too cheap

Brand new in an unopened MOPAR box, it appears this part could have benefited from the price reduction Jeep did on parts. Why would anyone buy aftermarket when the genuine is so cheap(if available).

To avoid the reason why you are prematurely replacing yours with a more robust, reliable unit

Be interesting to see which version is failing .....
I would say since the price in AUD over in the states for the thing is in the $700aud area, the price you got yours was the price Jeep is charging itself even though from a sparky it would be $400 or so, still a great price but I doubt Joe Bloggs will be able to grab one at that price................... If you actually put cash over the counter then I would say run away as they have cocked up.

I have heard of $340 price tags off dealers on another caravan towing Jeep forum just recently, maybe clearing old stock or “we’ve got your back” lol pricing

How good are the chinese aftermarket ones. I have read on a couple different sites that one of the after market brands is also failing, I think 3mths for one person. Also I noted on a couple of other brands I was looking at they are not 220amp. The one I have is the latest part no, so probably the same ones they are fitting to the new JGCs. This one lasted 8 years , so if the next one last 8 years I would have sold it by then.

I would avoid Ebay for these sort of things I need providence, if it happens to mine I will be just getting a new diode plate and fitting it or at least getting a new unit from a place I can bang the counter if need be.
