I’d sure enjoy a tutorial on how to define a user defined PID.

Well. In the OBDLINK app people apply user defined PID’s so you can have more functionality, like monitor the soot level of you DPF or exhaust gas temperature.

I am a pretty tech savvy fella, however I have never done this and knowing that peeps have done this, I thought I’d ask how tha fark do they do this white mans magic.

Hi John,

No probs. Note - this information is specific to OBDLink on iOS.

Once you've connected to the car using your OBD dongle, first thing is to download the 'Enhanced OEM Add-Ons' - which you can do through the settings options. This will provide access to the GC specific PID's.

Then through the dashboard function, you can add the PID's. Hit menu on the top right > add display > select gauge type > select PID > Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo > Engine Control Module (Diesel) > search for the PID you're looking for.

Note - the 'Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo' PID option appears with the 'Enhanced OEM Add-Ons'. If you haven't completed this step, you won't be able to see the Jeep specific PID's.

I've attached some screen shots for each step below John. Hope that helps, sing out if you have any questions.

Pete.

Thank you so much, you’re a legend mate. I’ll give it a go over the weekend.

I have been using Bluedriver for a fair while. Had a couple of other readers but they wouldn't read the ABS on my previous WH, I found the Bluedriver excellent.
I have purchased a new dongle and downloaded the JScan OBD reader which allows me to see all the Jeep modules and even modify the programs.
