If its the swirl motor causing it then its just lifting the intake manifold, as if your going for the dreaded valley of death hose, can't see why the engine has to be lifted out at all to remove the manifold ...................... a different turbo but the rest is the same I thought ..........
I'd want to be sure before forking out that sort of reddies ............... I thought the swirl threw its own codes actually....... but I would concede to AGC being on the money.
That pipe that is loose they all are like that and a prick to get off, you have to lift either end of the spring clip at the same time and with your third hand slip the hose off the coupling using your other hand to steady yourself so hands 1 & 2 don't let go of the clip..... make sense ???????

Well, the swirl motor has thrown a couple of codes, p2023 and this arvo p2015. Not the dreaded p201d which is the busted gear. Maybe I'll keep looking for the split, I'll chase it up after, however it's now dark.
It didn't throw the code once i cleared it this morning, but did within 5 mins this arvo, damn thing.

I sat in the driveway and tried to run some diagnostics. Swirl motor, throttle, EGR flap, among other things, it couldn't do it, it said the conditions aren't met. Even stuff like the fan couldn't be tested. Hmm.

Interesting my code list doesn't show a P2023 nor a P201D but since they are flap codes I would summise crud build up is blocking the flaps so gear fail is on the cards later on , I guess .................... So lifting the lid to at least clean up the thing is probably the thing, might be able to squirt some intake cleaner which might be all thats needed.....
If there is a split or something on any hose I would think you would see a small snail trail; of oil anyway, even with a catch can the oil is still around..
When my clamp failed on a hose and it started to howl I didn't notice any codes....

Looked in the WSM and online, can't see why the engine needs to be pulled out to get the intake manifold off................... Im sure GDL would have mentioned it if it applied to earlier models..........

Apparently it's the elbow the turbo attached to, on the 2014 onwards it's changed and you can get the manifold off easily enough.
Spoke to another mob yesterday, he's done a few, said he takes the head off on that side and it'll be 6 hours labour, getting back to me with a price. Much better than engine out and 3 freaking days, plus it's closer to home and not over an hour away,
Spose I just gotta keep clearing the codes and plugging on until they can fit me in, I know it not the best but I need to be able to get to work FFS.
Bloody cars!
