your not wrong Chrispy .. my giddy aunt thats good .... what abotu off road? what do you guys get then adn what are the conditions like when you got the figures ... my mate with the limited V8 and i were doign the border track - i got 17l/100 outta my Patrol diesel (without the power may i add) and he got 37l/100!

And yes we did drive with the same boot! his was an auto and mine was a manual but it would make his better in theory being a auto wouldnt it?

Yeah... I used to get about 35-40L/100km offroad (sand) in my Patrol.

In the same terrain I'm now getting high 15's in the CRD - and that's revvin' the bejesus out of it in 4LO.

If I take it east, 4LO gets me 12-13's

I did post my figures for high tide up Double Is Pt at x-mas ie very soft, cut-up sand.....read-out showed 9~9.5 for run up hiway - I think it went back to 10 or 11/100k in the sand from Tewantin up to rainbow and back again...I use high range in sand (easier to keep momentum up)....the auto does the sorting of gears...leave the cruise control on at 45ks and just point

The best i can get from mine unloaded on freeway run doing 110k/h is 7.9/100klm.
Towu=ing 1200kg of camper trailer doing 100-110 we get 11.5/100klm.

Me not complaining
