If you're running 33s on 10" wheels, odds are they're sticking out a fair bit (and look wide). Maybe pick a skinnier wheel/tyre combo and get some flares/mud flaps.

doesn't matter if your driving a mini or a mack truck , if your tyres are out past the flares their illegal & it gives the police an easy/obvious thing to pull you up for .I know I look for the easiest way to do my job so why shouldn't they . You could make it harder for them by making it less obvious [or legal] .They are only doing the job we pay them to do .

Don't be to hard on the cops, they are only doing there job. Yes there are always some idiots who take it one step to far, but you get that anywhere. I have 33's which only sit out by a bees d%*k and have no problems so far (touch wood) the only time the boys and girls in blue have looked sideways at me was when i was driving without doors( had mirors on though). They didn't even stop me then.

If your tyres are out past your flares its going to be pretty obviously illegal, but I reckon they were a bit harsh on you and agree that there should be more focus on the turbo rice burners and bombadores

I know of a bloke that had his inspected by a lady at the DOT when he bought it - was lifted 3.5" (from memory) running 35's - all she said was
"jees it's high" and it passed the inspection.

You know who you are bloke
