I say that bec I have a low mount winch which gets hot if u do multiple winches and plasma ropes dont like that.
dont power out when spooling the rope off the drum unlock it and pull it out that way the winch doesnt get heat in the drum before you start winching .

I have done some research in ropes. Masterpull is the best so far and Viking Winch line.

I say that bec I have a low mount winch which gets hot if u do multiple winches and plasma ropes dont like that. Viking Winch line has extra 10ft coverage near the drum which protects it.

I have a quote from Northridge for 600 shipped. That is 3/8 x 100 with saftey timple with 20,000 LB breaking strength

I will get local quotes tomorrow.
you dont really need to spend extra money on Viking Fireline (the one with high temp resistant rope on the drum) unless you are planning on winching yourself back down inclines a lot, thats when heat builds up in the winch drum in low mounts - when powering out.

you can save yourself some money and just get standard Viking Line / plasma if you're just going to be using it for normal recovery jobs where you would just spool out manually as flexy has mentioned

i got mine from here http://www.winchline.com/winchline.htm
