Gotta love that. Not! Australian company and you get it cheaper from the states. Bet there's no warranty support here!

Hi all,

I am having difficulty understanding which oil for my NV247 QuadraDrive transfer case. People are confusing diffs, transmission and tcase.. saying things like "you need oil with FM in it" - but that's for the diffs.

From the various bits and pieces on this forum I gather that the only proper stuff for a V8 WG/J NV247 is the Mopar stuff (expensive) or the "Penrite Manual Gear Oil 70" which isn't stocked by SuperCheap (they can order it in, but it comes in at just over $100!!)... The Castrol website says to check with manufacturer.

Anyone shed any light on this?

I just get the tranfer case oil from Jeep and use that as it is easier. I think that Redline do some but I have only used their stuff for my diffs.

Pick an oil brand, go to their website and use the oil finder and it will give you the various oils for your rig, many have "use genuine" for some bits with Jeeps but your dealer doesn't always use the Mopar brand for servicing your Jeep.
Mine runs on Penrite and Nulon because of price and availability, plus they are good quality and no stuffing around when I want some.
