Reversing up an incline is almost impossible without burning the clutch...

We know the benefits of the higher ratios offroad, what about for city driving? Would it resolve my problems??
Or is it a problem with my clutch????
It takes a little getting used to as the throttle response is delayed slightly so it is almost impossible to catch some times. I always reverse my trailer up my drive in lo as the slope is to great for high and strangely enough reverse seems to be higher than first for some reason. The stalling issue is nothing to do with the clutch or diff ratios more to do with the throttle and you just need to get used to it.

if the ratios are 3:21 that would explain why they are terrible. Alright 4.11's are the go. So I can simply purchase the new ratio gearing and get it installed, simple as that?

But who sells the 4.1 gears?? Are they gonna be OE or aftermarket? How will one get the 4.1 R&P gears for front D30??

Doubt it. It's next generation Dana 30 (186/DJR) and Dana 44 (226/DRZ). The differentials from previous D30 and D44 not compatible with these. Only 4.56, 4.88 and 5.13 available for JK from aftermarket. The 4.1s have to be OE for the time being.

So it is, never looked for 4.1 as thats what im running and wouldn't fit back in if they broke, I would fit 4.56 if these failed.

seems 4.56 is where the market starts, any lower isn't suitable for more serious offroad applications with larger tyres so they dont bother i surpose.

I dont believe the 4.1 will even fit on a 3.21 carrier? there is 2 sizes of carrier for the d30 in relation to gears. same as the rear.
