Vibration can cause the connections to become loose, also they trap moisture which leads to a poor connection....

Finished wiring the new relay box. I used some of the old connectors, and some new ones, as per the video. I crimped and soldered every joint. I tested all 7 relays to click on and deliver power to each cable. I now have to modify the cradle it sits in and get it mounted in the car. Going to take a while as I'll be working 7 days a week for the foreseeable future...

Cheers,

HaHa Werd, there is about 1000 meters of red wires in there... which one? I upgraded it all to 15 amp. Looking forward to getting rid of the mess in my engine bay, and getting it all tidy. Should be really easy for trouble shooting and maintenance of all my accessories.

Cheers,
I see that you too ran the heavier wiring to the front stud like in that video, stuffed if I know why as there's no need to...

I am no electrician, so i just followed the advice of the wiring diagram and video. I used 15 amp wiring from the main power post, to the fuse posts and then on to pin 30 on the relays and out the other side of the relays to drive all my accessories. All the wiring to switch the fuses on via relay pins 85 and 86 are just light gauge stuff. I am not sure what accessories like fans, compressors etc draw what amperage, but i guess i will always be in spec. Just need to work out the right size fuse to use for each accessory.

cheers,

The easy (and much, much neater) way is to use the original fuse wiring to feed to the relays, simple and neat...

As for current draw, fans can easily draw 15-30A or more, each, compressors can easily draw 30-40A, this really should have been worked out prior to starting so the correct sized wiring can be used....
