You do have a particular way of displaying your inability to comprehend a situation davidd.
There is
clear and conscise rules regarding posted speed limits in Australia.
Nobody has yet to display or link to a clear and conscise "doors on / doors off" rule for Jeep TJ and JK models.
You have been requested to, even in a PM ... as you are the biggest advocate on the thread for keeping the doors on ... and have failed to do so ...
Instead ... you keep dishing up drivel like your lamborghini post.
There are discrepancies in the application of ADRs to all roaduse vehicles ... as I have proven with my motorcycle comments ... That alone would make
the Jeep specific door issue debatable and defendable in court ... and if someone has a solicitor owing them a freebie - it could be well worthwhile exploring the possible outcomes.
Prattling on about door hinges and locking mechanisms ... is only relevant if:
A/. The vehicle is structurally dependant on the doors, and perhaps when
B/. Removable doors are fitted on a vehicle, designed to be able to easily remove them.
...... as when there are no doors on a vehicle designed to be operated without doors ... the catches and hinges have no purpose and are irrelevant.
Carrying on about a
locating nut or bolt on a Jeep hinge system being a structural component is also a load of crock and misleading. Its no different to suggesting the shipping tie down point on jeeps is a rated, snatch strap point .....
The issue is Jeep specific ... It has nothing to do with monocoque vehicles without chassis, or soft top sports cars that normally need doors to stop then bending in the middle, or 300mph lamborghinis or getting booked for travelling over the posted limit.
Whether or not it is legal to have the doors on or off has still not been shown after nearly 15 pages of posts - because ADRs arent written to deal with a vehicle concept such as a TJ / JK.
