That is wide!!, especially considering the specs say a 315 should be on a minimum of a 8" rim. I think I will go with the 285 to be safe. It is a jeep, I don't want to encourage it to fall to bits

Is anyone running 255/80/17? They equate to slightly larger than 33" but are narrower. I'm thinking of these as there would be no problems on standard rims and the tyres fit well within the guards. I'm also thinking that narrower tyres would be less of a cop magnet. I know you can get KM2s in this size, does anyone know any other brands?

Slight rubbing ok, my 285/70/17 rub badly on the sway bar & inside the inner guard on full articulation, I would expect the 315/70/17 would try & tare off the inner guard & rub really badly on the sway bar, I have 315/70/17 ready to fit just need to fit bump stops 1st

add some 1.5 wheels spacers this will solve your problem with 285/70/17 and the 315/70/17

Is the rubbing due to the increased width of the tyre or the increased diameter? As I said above, I'm interested in 255/80/17 which have a narrower width but a larger diameter. If the diameter of the tyre is the cause of the rubbing then I'm going to have to reevaluate my choice.
