Part 68064273AB is available for a few dollars at dealers, in case your transfer case shifter bushing needs replacement (common item failure). Jeep will try and sell you the whole shifter kit for hundreds.

Thanks for the heads up😊 I'll have a look at it next if the sway bar links don't fix it.

Didn't need to take off the grill, bumper etc, just the fan shroud(easy if you've done the half/half mod), and the externals to get to the timing belt and pump.
Total cost was $390 including the toolkit to hold the cams and crank.
The link below was where I got the tb/wp. Don't be put off by it being in Poland, I paid for it on Wednesday and it arrived on my doorstep the following Monday!

Re the toolkit, I can't find the link as I bought it some months ago. A search on ebay should net it. I paid $29 delivered.
Below is a similar kit, a few dollars more, but same contents. The kit does the same job as one costing $200-$400!

Hopefully this will help anyone who is weighing up whether to DIY or pay an arm and leg to get someone
I just bought another KJ 3.7 ltr. Never considered the timing belt. Does the 3.7 litre petrol have a timing belt or chain?

2.5CRD

Idler pulleys purchased from BSC. $24 each plus $10 freight so $58 for both. Part is a Dayco 89052.

Alternator Override Decoupler (clutch pulley) purchased from IAT-USA. Cost was $30US plus $36US shipping. Part is a Litens 920834. Best to call them as some of the links are out of date. Big thanks to Allen Steadman of Litens for helping out with this. Note that it appears Litens supply the OEM decouplers and this is a fully sealed unit which should last a long time.

I am not impressed and wonder if this is a common occurrence , I am not prepared to run the risk again.

No, I wouldn’t characterise it as common, I’ve ordered from RockAuto many times, all orders were fulfilled perfectly, and quickly with excellent service. Clearly if the manufacturer has supplied incorrectly labeled parts that is outside of RockAuto’s control. Not sure why the rest of the transaction went south, sorry to hear that but don’t think that is the normal.

Doug.

They have chains, have never heard of them wearing or breaking....
