Why don't you use the old hose as corners and source a section of ally pipe to replace the blown section. Couple of hose clamps and you are mobile again until th samco hoses are completed.

Most WA clubs don't agree, it's made from cast metal and as such is weaker than steel... Jocwa over here don't rate it, so to wheel with them you can't use it for recovery... Hence why I now have steel rated recovery points and IMHO they look better than the cans

You can buy standard bends of varying diameters at super cheap auto, might get lucky and be able to match the blown one. Couple of sections of ally tube so you can join the old pipe to the new bend?
Buggar though, goodluck

I have even seen them sell bits of straight section along with metal "joiners" with raised ridges at each end so you can join different bits of silicone pipe to each other. Could even try a diesel/truck parts supplier, they often have many air intake hose parts suitable for forced induction applications.

Stronger is better and you're right about the appearance

i would play it safe. We have 2 GU's in our club and both have completely sheared off their so called factory recovery point during a recovery, coincidence i doubt it.
As a club we will no longer recovery from these points on a GU as it is too dangerous.
We check everyones recovery point prior to a trip to make sure they are suitable otherwise they are informed if they come they may not be recoverable as we want recover from that point
