While I'm in the office or at home I have other mechanisms to help protect my machine, however not everyone is in the same boat.

And before anyone says make sure you have up to date AV this is no longer an effective strategy with the ever evolving mechanisms attackers employ to avoid detection.

Essentially AV is pretty dead technology at protecting you against polymorphic code etc...

While I've disabled my ad blocker for AJOR now I'd personally prefer not to, I'd rather pay $10 than run the risk of viewing ads.

A good example can be found here, HTH.

Thankyou for your feedback we will be working towards a way to allow donation members to continue to block at their person discretion.

I have never ever picked up any thing from this forum ,
and I run a free advast ?? must pay to make sure your system is completely updated and stays up to date.

that's unless you keep getting your system to remember your passwords , and visit sites in the dark deep world of the cyber.

BUT , I also do not do my banking ONLINE as I did once not so long ago (to buy a car) and got nothing but flooded with BS but after doing a complete scan online (several times) and pre boot up , never had them back .

but if you are silly enough to leave vital information on a system , rather than carrying a external or even a usb thumb stick , well what can one say ?
I now have to move banks due to the fact the only ATM I can use in this town has been pulled out so I now have to transfer all my accounts (yes more than one) over to another banking system , everyone doing there banking transfers , and real important information via internet .

YET cant trust one forum site ?
my special thanks go to the suncorp which I had been a customer since they were known as metway (early 80's)
and here it is : may a thousand fruit bats fly over your house and excrete from the blurter all at once , and the seat at work gives you haemorrhoids because your boss is a tight wad.

We had run ads from a supplier years ago which were a culprit for pop-ups, and potential risks. Nowdays only using Google can rely on some safety net with them.

Google is better than most at ensuring they don't distribute malware but they have also fallen victim in the not too distant past.

then the kiddies go home and see them anyway. LOL.
but I guess you don't pre run and scan safe website ?
but I guess then the turnbullie idea of cutting fed to state budget .
but, as it goes I still run win7 prem , as win10 did not have the correct driver for my network card, adblocker is not the only thing that can be used.
most anti virus (if not all ) should have live scan , and will show you when searching on a search engine which web sites are safe. I still run IE explorer , so I can set the security setting (control panel\internet options) and refuse to use online banking , and for the OS to remember any passwords.
my passwords are never names , dates, or flow on numbers , always a mix of numbers, letters and characters EG: z?4h87>la and never in a upper case.
one should always keep a OS up to date, and anti virus as well.
for NOTE anything you send out of your system can be tracked , and I tell you now most hackers look for bank signals , e mail addresses , names , dates ,
and even the family pet name. anything with a star encryption. remember , EVERY computer , device is like having a house address. and like of old times , they can follow you home, see your movements so on, keep scanning all times , live scan . and look out for that striped masked bugger who hangs around that big red haired floppy shue and the purple blob.
