Mate, where I was heading yesterday was, (I know you've got it sorted, and you're not a newb) if your XJ is a daily, most muddies are crap and will wear fast.
If you don't do a lot of mud, some of the more aggressive AT's are very good.

My Wifes XJ has Mickey Thompson ATZ's on it. And I'm very impressed with them.

Or keep an eye out for a used set of Simex etc.. only takes 1/2 an hour to swap em over..

Thats bloody cheap.

Trepadors are better offroad, they are the most aggressive radial tyre I have ever seen.

Murry,

Although I have not clocked up huge miles on the MT MTZ (5000km so far), I feel they give good all round performance and they are wearing very well and even...

I'm running them at @ 32 psi (heard of people in XJ's running them as low as 23-25 psi on the road) but off road they need to be at least 15 psi to make them work (the side walls are are tuff) and dont bag to much on level ground but when you put it against a rock they move really well.

I'm sure there is few in the "she'll be right gang" that are also running MTZ and are happy with their choice...

I have never seen a set in the flesh. Can you get them over here? They are getting great reviews in the U.S.
