Do others that experience the temperature rise have front bash plates????

In case you didn't read my comments in the 'Towing Heavy Loads with WH Grand' thread.
I just towed my new 3.2 ton boat back from Sydney. The temperatures rose to 4 notches over half. Took the front bash plate off and it made no difference.
Does anyone have any more suggestions on how to keep the temperatures down??
I believe that there is thicker aftermarket radiator available.
