I luv this sh*t, the tank fuel pump is designed to pressurise, at 65-80 psi so running at no pressure I suppose it could spin to fast but without looking it up I think it’s supposed to be capable of 200 lpm so it will empty the tank bloody quick. I understand FW but to hurt the hp pump which incidentally has a gauze filter between the low pressure side and high pressure side contamination will have to jump across from the inlet to outlet in the filter housing. I wonder if the filters are in series or parallel, if in series just remove the first one but I would think they are more likely in parallel

The other option is to use a geologist hammer, the spike end then repair the tank lol

The problem is people assume everything is to technical but when pulled apart the guts are the same as 50-60 years ago, it’s only the bolt on electronics, firmware and software that stuffs things

The inlet line to the hp pump is quick release I know because I put a pressure gauge across mine when looking for the fuel rail pressure fault and the diesel mechanic said most problems with diesels is the fuel flow

Hi All,

I added a bottle of diesel injector cleaner, and managed to get 30 litres of fresh fuel in and ran the car for about 50km. I am hoping fuel will be OK. Waiting on a new MAP/Boost Pressure Sensor to arrive and see if that cleans up some or all of the performance issues. I have cleaned the MAF and also swapped it out but no improvement. It now will start up and go like a rocket but 2k later the throttle control warning and engine light comes on and does either of two things, one is going limp and couldn't pull the skin off a custard, or two switches off the turbo and runs smooth and makes speed OK just not boosted. Sometimes I get the P0402 EGR flow excessive but always get the P0101 MAF sensor out of range. Next step might be EGR valve disassembly but I will need to get a kit.
thanks
Adrian

When at the wreckers getting a MAF I asked them if they knew an easy way to get the fuel out and they said drop the tank or make a hole and fix it with a bung later.

Wonder if something like this could be retro fitted. but how the hell do you gain access to inside the tank to fit the lock nut on??

Apologies Farwest didn’t mean to offend just I am still on a high from installing VV fuel relay fix as the car is going so well, even the gearbox is changing better so probably a bit out of line

I have asked VV about the ability of the splice connection to pin 85 on the pink wire to do the job of energising the relay coil or whether it was one too many tasks to perform and where that pink wire came from and what it feeds in the tipm and if wiring diagrams for the MY11-13 diesel to Australia were obtainable.
All the mini blades M25, M30 and M37 had a straw colouring about them but if that much heat was around the solder would melt. Just another curiosity
