Something tells me this might be the last straw for redgp!!! Might see that particular Jeep in the classifides sooner or later! I must say, I don't feel particularly confident about the reliability of my Jeep these days - feel like I'm just waiting for something to go pop!

Sounds like a lot of money for a couple of hoses but I suppose its cheap insurance for having your car out of action for several weeks.

On another note, and bear in mind I know nothing about this stuff, would something like an aluminium turbo pipe be any good for this purpose? Like I said I may be way off!

Yeah thanks Tassiemav for all the effort!!!

Would it just be easier to organise a Provent group buy locally to "provent" the problem occurring in the first place?

This is what Drafty wrote in the warranty thread:

"I have telephoned one of the places here in Perth that does turbo race cars and they can make up aluminium turbo pipes and use off the shelf silicone elbows where needed so I think thats the was Steve is thinking."

So maybe this option is worth exploring. Presumably it would be cheaper than getting silicone hoses made from scratch in the UK...?

I am open to all suggestions to be honest with you. From speaking to the Turbo guys here, the Silicon Elbow's are pretty expensive just as they are off the shelf, and there is an issue in that the pipe on the Turbo side (Turbo to Intercooler) is a different diameter on the Turbo side than it is on the Intercooler side. Hence my thinking that a custom manufactured pipe would be the only way to fix it proparly.

Re; Provent, agreed, that is a good idea. However, from my (limit) research, there would still be some vapours come through (not all are from the Crankcase Breather) so there would still be the oil issue, it may just take a little longer to make itself apparant.

I am not interested in half fixing the issue, I want it done and want it done proparly, but if there are other ideas am more than welcome to discuss!

Samco's minumum order will be 14, 15 including me. They have offered me a free set if I can get 14 others. I am happy to pay so, if they come in at, say, $300 a set, I will take $20 off everyone's invoice and pay the $280 as well. That's assuming we get the CONFIRMED numbers!

In the interium, if anyone has another solution............ I just don't trust the thing (they only replaced the Inlet side on mine, so I am waiting for the other one to blow. Probably on Christmas eve!).

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve

I'm in. Either colour will be fine with me.
Thanks for the work - How will they get hold of a set of RH drive pipes to model off.

Cheers JBee
