Default why do the Australian JKs have different bars anyway

I don't get it - I kinda like to ones on the non-Australian jeeps, who did they go spoil it?

Is it possible to fit the (standard) US ones instead?

Yes it's possible, I've looked into it and almost ordered one BUT... before I went ahead and bought it I had someone check the spacing between the foglights (where you mount the front rego) and there is JUST not enough space to fit an Aussie licence plate. The only other option would be to order a stock "X model" bumper as these dont come with foggies.

So I'm gonna order the mopar bar now, I have browsed around on the net and can't seem to find any sites selling them... Anyone know what site they can be ordered from?

Cheers.

3rd one down. Think there is the rear bumper on that site as well.

All I can say is be VERY prepared for freight costs. For starters, its way oversize, so forget about USPS. UPS or FEDEX are your best well known options, but Id say youwill be paying in excess of $1000 for air freight (and dont forget duties when it gets here!)

Sea is cheaper, if you can wait 38-60 days, depending on which coast it leaves from...........

I paid $1400 to get a set of 5 wheels and tyres here for my jk, took 3 days to arrive here from the US!!!!

Got the 18"s that were optional on the sahara in the US with Dueler AT to suit, done 40 miles. Sea freight will be alot cheaper, but Ive had problems in the past with that method, plus I was getting my Sport Renegade in the next week! That was 3 weeks ago, ive since changed to a rubicon unlimited, due end of this month

One possibly silly question?
If you had the Mopar fron bar with the winch mount as in the photo, where would you put the fron number plates?
I've been told by my dealer that they will be able to get these into Aus, maybe as ealry as June but I cant figure where the front plate would go.
