Will it be rated for recovery points? If so, would you be prepared to send a set of the plans for a reasonable price?

Once it's done and we see how it fits and all the bits are fine tuned I have no problems doing so, we'll see how we go..... may be a little while before it all comes together though.

I do like the one you and Glend posted 02kj I believe its aluminium? I'm guessing the recovery points are attached to the chasis like mine is designed to. I've looked at steal and aluminium it's all depending on what my mate can do or not.... I've never asked he's just helped out over a few beers. But this weekend will give me some directions.

Default Good news and then some news

Okay, had a great weekend down home again, had a fairly lengthy chat and measure and so on with my mate the fab fabricator and he has some pretty awesome stuff in his work shop. We have come to the conclusion after 02kj sent me a pm that boilers would be easier to replicate however would be changed to meet ADRs here for eg. adding a few lights here and there.

So here is the good news..... The bar will be done it should take around two weeks for building etc, he is an engineer with an ABN number so that should help roadworthy I hope and at this point in time he is willing to make others once the first is done and he has all the specs and plans. Will he send the plans and specs to anyone you may ask??..... have no idea doubt it would be an issue..... How long would it take to have yours done???

Well heres the not so good news, mine will be getting done HOPEFULLY on the 10th to the 23 of Jan next year at this stage looking positive, but this may be moved around as he can fit it in with his scedule, obviously once it is done and any of you do order one he'd quote and build as per normal business customers and have it done sooner but as mine is a favour at this moment and me paying for materials and beer and a little extra it will take a few months to come together.

Yes he can use alluminium, he recommended steel, just like the ARB bar, and says 1 that steel is cheaper, 2 it would most likely be only just heavier than alluminium as steal would be thinner with correct supports (Airbags may be needed, I'd recommend putting them on anyways) and 3 is easier to work thus reducing waiting times.

So here's hoping.......... Hope this helps
