Just had a thought....it'd be cool to see someone cut the tailgate in half down the middle and use the two halves as the front of the drawers... just bolt on latches and handles and remove the OE hinge. Nice 'n' tough.... and no more tailgate!! (more room in the drawers too!!)

At the moment it is just spray painted grey. The 'rings' are just the roll bars hanging out the end of the black padding.

In this pic you can see the wheel nuts holding the rim onto the steel pedestal:

It's an optical illusion I tells ya! I thought you had some chrome outer rings over the roll cage where it meets the rear deck... don't mind me.

i bought mine with a checkerplate deck on it, great for taking my dog and when i do a trip somewhere the esky and a lockable tool box. visibility is still really good even when you have the toolbox on it. seems really strong as i've had 4 blokes standing on it as i went threw a boghole lol it also adds a lil something extra to the jeep to make it stand out!

that looks quite alright that deck. i like it.

would be a good set up for a Tuff Truck comp car or even an Outback Challenge truck.
certainly getting rid of the weight off the door is a bonus and a big help.
