BlueDriver arrived this week!

Codes are for erratic ABS sensor on both left & right front and tone wheel. Both front unit bearings were replaced about one or two years ago... Pulled the front wheels off. Brakes & discs, then the unit bearing, so I could pull the sensors out.

Spun the axle around while looking in with a torch and found some grease on the tone wheels. No mud or other contamination. I was going to swap in some other sensors until I saw the grease. (The only problem with them is that they are OEM length JK sensors that have shorter leads than the ones in there now.) Wiped them off with some cotton buds & cleared the codes. Reassembled & a short drive later, all was ok.

Then again, that's what I said last time! We'll see.

I can go one better than you....Or worse. not sure.

Engine was dying randomly. No codes.

The entire ignition system (coil pack, spark plugs, leads) was changed on my engine by the last owner. So I'm sitting here thinking it is a computer failure or wiring fault.

On a whim I changed out the cam angle sensor with one from a wreck. Fixed!

But then I got error codes revving over 3000rpm.

Fault was intermittent engine RPM or something like that and ESP was being disabled. Little bit WTF at this point.

Decided to fiddle with the CAS as that was what I last touched. Noticed it was height variable. So sent it ever so slightly deeper into its hole (it can be pushed in too far also).

Haven't seen the code come back and problems seem fixed. For now. Haha.

Not cars for those who aren't into DIY I reckon.

I think it was a bit of grease out of the bearings that ended up inside. Hopefully that will fix it for a few more years!

edit: Nope. Lights back on again. Will swap the sensors out, otherwise I'm guessing its the ABS module...

error was right sensor erratic... again.

Found a bit more grease when I pulled them, on the right one. I put in the other sensors anyway. Just have to remember not to go offroad & disconnect, or I think they will get snapped as they are the OEM length.
