Went to Caravan and Camping Show at Toowoomba, saw some great gear, was checking out the Honda Inverter Gennys, great price's, missus said we should get one, they are quieter than our old 2.2kva job. The Honda looks good sitting next to the camper, smaller, lighter and quieter, I'm happy..

It seems like you don't get out of Shep much LB . We used to travel from SA to Albury a few times a year. There is a lake not far past Swan Hill. It was a dust bowl for a few years running. The town was not allowed to pump water into it because of the drought. Given that I don't think too much was making it as far as Mannum. .

AG,
During the drought 100% of Adelaide's water came from the Murray.
I have a better knowledge of the water system than most on here including you ( post grad cert in water management).
Lake Boga goes dry regularly. The lake in Shepparton was also dry in the drought.
Next time you are in SA, go for a drive just upstream of Mt Bold & you will see some of the Murray water that is been pumped. The Kangaroo Creek dam likewise. Have a look at SA Waters pump stations at Mannum & Morgan. I am sure that if you did some searches on the net you could find out the quantities of water pumped from the Murray.

You sure that includes all Adelaide. Myponga which serves a fair bit of the deep South of Adelaide right up to past Maslin's I only thought got it catchment locally.

BTW LB since you have a degree in water management; why would you need 30k of water. Wouldn't it be better to use more efficient watering systems? . Does sound like you might be like the 100s of other farmers upstream who may be able to reduce water wastage by converting to drip irrigation and mulching...... I mean poor water management is why the Murray is brown now and no longer clear like it was 80 years ago.
