So is there an actual fix or just swap away til you get sick of it? Mine starts and drives fine. But when it surges when cold or when the AC is on it can be quite dangerous when riding the brake into a tight space as when it surges it trys to run off on me. Embarrassing and annoying.

I really like this car but don't want to spend thousands for no reason replacing things with no result.

It shows no fault codes on the ELM.

Thanks
Change the filter i have changef to sprinter type filter will not change back to jeep type ..and get a buddys fuel rail pressure regulator swap it out and see i have installed it new 3 times with no better results the 4th one works ..thats why if you can borrow one from a running jeep try it

When I did the EGR delete, it didn't make any difference to my smoking problem at the time (I thought the valve was faulty). I manually applied vacuum to the valve to prove it was working. Once convinced the EGR system was functional, I returned it to service.

BTW, with the snorkel you can clearly hear the EGR at idle, and it closing after 30 seconds at idle.
Do the EGR delete mod, it's worth the effort long term. A catch can is a good thing to do as well.

The link to do it in the everything thread?

I'll do it.

That aussie50 guy on YouTube seems to have cured his surge with the valve on the rail.

Just add a cautionary note that some of the Sprinter stuff does not apply to Jeeps - particularly the electric turbo vane actuation. Ours are electric over vacuum.

Also the electric fuel pump doesn't apply.

Ah OK. Thanks.

I had a play today to see if I could see a fluctuation in the rail pressure or injector correction values during surging. Nothing noticeable.

Any suggestions on what else to watch?

Seems to be blowing a fair bit of white smoke on acceleration when cold also...

White smoke when cold would lead me to believe your injectors have some sort of issue.
Did you already read correction values in JeepDiagPro?
