Family Oriented Camping Trip - Elanda Point

Ok, we'll set it as Friday 14th until Sunday 16th. I'm going to ring Elanda this week to see if i need to book. I know that on the Australia Day weekend and Easter you cannot get a campsite there at all but this will be a week+ beforehand so i'm hoping it won't be too busy.

Just to refresh memories, the campsite fee is still (i think) $7 per person (not sure about kids) but this covers drinking water and hot showers. There are 2-3 toilet blocks throughout the camping area and there is an area with hot water and sinks to do the washing up and a laundry to wash clothes. We can purchase firewood & ice and munchies and bacon and eggs and things like that from the Kiosk.

The camping ground is on Lake Cotharaba and is brackish and very shallow. There are plenty of bushwalking tracks, historical sites and the Information Centre located up the noosa river is only accessible by walking or canoeing and canoes and skis can be hired.

It's approx 45mins to Rainbow Beach via Cooloola Way (rough dirt) or 15 mins to Tewantin via bitumen.

ok I phoned Elanda today (had been waiting for Sam to do it )

The news is:
-The camp ground doesn't take bookings
- Seeing as it isn't Oz day weekend it shouldn't be packed...but will still be busy...

Sam and I are heading up Friday, so we can find a nice big spot and pitch camp very spaciously, to reserve room for everyone else...

I am assuming everyone is heading up Saturday Morning?

Bring change for the barge, and walking shoes, along with your camping gear.
