Been around for ages

It's actually an option for the WJ too... just a mod to the EVIC, four sensors (one in each wheel) and away you go!

You can buy them aftermarket - but I'd have to look it up....

Tire Pressure Monitoring - Premium System

The Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPM) system uses wireless technology with wheel rim mounted electronic sensors to monitor tire pressure levels. Sensors mounted to each wheel as part of the valve stem transmit tire pressure readings to the Receiver Module. The wheel sensors monitor tire pressure, and status for all four active road tires and the spare tire. The spare tire pressure is monitored, but not displayed.

The "Tire Pressure Monitoring Indicator Lamp" will illuminate in the instrument cluster, and an audible chime will be activated when one or more tire pressures is low. The "Tire Pressure Monitoring Indicator Lamp" will flash on and off for ten seconds when a system fault is detected. The flash cycle will repeat every ten minutes or until the fault condition is removed and reset.

The Premium Tire Pressure Monitoring System consists of the following components:

* Receiver Module
* 4 (or 5*) Wheel Sensors
* 3 Wheel Sensor Trigger Modules
* Tire Pressure Monitoring System Display Messages in the EVIC
* Amber Colored Tire Pressure Monitoring Indicator Lamp

*A sensor is installed in the spare wheel if the vehicle is equipped with a matching full size spare wheel and tire assembly.

What are you expecting ?

Toyota-style, no torque, 6000+ rpms, but good specific power ( ie : kW per litre of displacement ) ?

Don't forget, Toyota, Hyundai and Ford have all been busted big time over the last couple of years due to grossly inflating advertised engine output figures.

When I started working in sales, selling new Chrysler/Jeep and Nissan, I couldn't work out how the 98kW Neon was faster than the lighter, 104kW Pulsar SSS.

Then I understood.

Mopar kW are raised on BEEEF, nippon kW are raised on RIIIIIIICE.

Check out my Ride(s)
Default New Hemi

Werribee Jeep let me have a drive of their new WG demo.

Almost 80k on-road c/w all extras, roof package, Hemi etc, what an awesome vehicle on the road. The only issue I have is like the ones already addressed earlier. I could not imagine taking on a MJOC Wombat Forest night run thru the bog holes would be crying all the way. I would have to do with out the roof package only 10mm clearance couldn't wear the new Jeep Beanie the guy's gave me.
