I'm thinking about moving the rear springs from the side of the frame to an under frame mount or relocating the side mounts lower to get rid of the lift blocks.

What's the downside of moving the springs to an under frame arrangement compared to a lower position at the side of the frame ?

JeepZilla's floor was a bit of a mess , rust holes and some areas of the floor were paper thin, so it required a lot of panels and patches made up and welded in , now the J20 has a good floor again . The whole cab has taken back to bare metal by hand (no sand blaster available locally) before respraying

RUST REPAIRS DONE - Now preparing to paint

Now starting on the roll bar and putting in the DC-10 cockpit windows.

9 months has gotten away ! The CJ7 is back on the road and my J20 and Willys has been moved to the new warehouse (1,200m2) , still fighting to keep my aviation parts business alive and growing.

Lots of spare weekends coming up as my GF is doing a course Sat and Sun for the next 6 months so there wont be any complaints about working on Jeeps on the weekend

J20 cabin roll bar is almost done.

Just came across this thread.

Awesome Macguyver job shoehorning aircraft bits into a Jeep.

You won't be driving fast, you'll be flying low

Thanks Dave,

Looks like I'm going to have to cut the windscreens with a bandsaw and regroove it with a die grinder, the shape is too odd to fit into the original windscreen space.

I spent yesterday moving parts to set up 2 separate work areas , 1 for the Willys and 1 for the J20

One thing I've learnt from the Indonesians is adapting parts to your Jeep, the Indos are masters at fitting different brakes, engines and transmissions with hand built adapters as there is nothing available off the shelf.

The weirdest conversion I've seen was a rear engined Willys Jeep, they'd stuck a Holden 6 in backwards in the rear tray so in 2wd it was driving the front wheels.
