Just as a side, I would love to know how you could shim the Control Arms on a JK to correct Castor. I could understand something like a GQ with a Shim in it (on the Chassis end of the Radius Arm which is actually a pin with Bushes rather than an eye and this would rotate the diff and give more castor) however, from my basic understanding of Suspension Geometry, the JK has a 5 Link front end and the only way to correct castor after a lift is to fit longer/adjustable Upper/Lower Control arms?

mate i wouldnt expect anything to happen, if it does then i guess you have to deal with it but more people havent experienced DW than have and i beleive most cases (not factual mind you) are probably due to stuffed control arm bushes

You should be able to remove your steering dampner and have no shimmy or DW. Steering dampner will only absorb a portion of the shimmy if there is any.

The few who disagree probably don't even know where the steering dampner is actually located.

lol Yom, you're going to get us both in to trouble.

i moved the stabiliser mount slightly myself. The ride quality generally is probably slightly worse but the shimmy and DW's is 50% better!

Default DW is a disease with no know cure

The primary purpose of the stabiliser is to help stop bump steer and prevent the steering wheel trying to rip your thumbs off while you are on reasonably rough terrain.

I have the OME lift and a few months back bent the stock steering stabilizer in a creek bed . The stock stabiliser is so pathetic that I did not notice it until the I went to put the disconnects back in for the drive home and saw it leaking. I drove the 300+ klms home over some ordinary sections of road and it was not too bad.

Changing the position of the stabiliser will do jack sh17 to stopping the DW. I replace my bent one with a rancho and you need to rotate the mount to clear the diff. I see guys with all sorts of brackets and mounts fitted to get the stabiliser up a bit higher and out of harms way and not reports of DW (nor did it cure the DW)

DW seem to be a random thing with the JK. The disease has been seen in stock, mild and wild lifts. But all are rare and random. And worst of all, no one anywhere has found the magic cure.
