Bummer...

Jeep manages these ones centrally - it you fall FCA customer service, they’ll organise a tow to the dealer and a replacement rental car

Have you I missed something? Are FCA now supporting diesels which have alternator failure?

Yeah, I too was wondering what I've missed. No recall on CRD alternators to my knowledge.

My bad, didn’t realize you guys were in diesels. Still, worth trying FCA.

So the same thing happened to my 2012 GC diesel.
Battery light came on, shortly after all the warning lights were blinking and beeping at me. At this point i made moves to get off the road but before i could the power steering went, then the engine just as i rolled onto the verge.

We jump started it, but it wouldn't drive more than 50m before it died again.
Interestingly, no second battery system connected, no major sound system, no real draw on the electrical system. Original battery but last service (10k ago) came up fine.
Just fine one day, dead the next.

Going to call FCA this morning, then RAC and hopefully tow it to a dealer.

The alternator looked a bit black on the back side copper winds, but other than that everything looked good.

Certainly seems like they need to recall the diesels to me..

Dont forget to contact ACCC re your alternator meltdown.
The more complaints reported will hopefully start a recall for this known fault.
Cheers

If you are stuck !! Part numbers for 220 amp alternators that fit 2011- 15 diesels.
