Just ordered my Samco turbo hoses. It's claimed that they help to provide increased fuel efficiency and better performance.

Anyone else using these? What's your impression?

My KJ wants to retire from active service. Transmission fault, multi select solenoid. Could take a while before I feel like attacking it.

I fitted the Samco turbo hoses to ours a few months back.

Seems to run a bit smoother and efficiency has been good, but it's a bit hard to tell when I did the timing belt kit, serpentine belt, pulleys and tensioner, turbo hoses, fuel filter, air filter, oil change, MAP sensor clean, intercooler clean, glowplugs etc. All at the same time!! Probably a bit of a placebo effect in there too.

Can't say it runs any worse!....

Yeah wow, that's a lot of work. How did you do the inter cooler clean?

I've pretty much just done all that as well.

With much difficulty!!

When I did the timing belt I had to pull the radiator and intercooler out (especially after trying to remove the fan without taking the radiator out and putting a pinhole in the radiator!). As they have to come out together and the radiator was damaged, I took both to the local NatRad and got them to clean, pressure test and repair. Only cost $130 from memory, so pretty good value.

I wanted all traces of engine oil out of the intake system after doing the elephant hose mod, disconnecting the MAF sensor and cleaning the alloy intake elbow and manifold back when I got it 20,000kms ago.

I'm pleased to say that the intake elbow was as clean as a whistle when I pulled it off when changing the glow plugs!!

My hoses just arrived!! Never been so excited to see silicon...oh wait...

Mate, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, thanks to my recent glow plug adventure, pretty much everything north of the main engine block including the head, the timing belt, water pump, pulleys, tensioner, all related gaskets and bolts, serpentine belt have all been replaced or reconditioned. So now I have new glow plugs, new coolant and I have also recently replaced myself, the fuel filter, had the alternator reco'd. These hoses will be the last money I spend engine wise for quite some time, if I can help it.

Beyond that I think the Jeep is pretty much where I want it....not going to do lift kit or anything, use doesn't warrant it and there is nothing wrong with the stock springs and shocks so far as I can tell.
