You are correct, they are me measuring to the stock rubber bump which is how the QLD transport measures it. I have looked and looked and can not find any official stats, apart from the NSW RTS descriptor, which was updated last on April 2009 and only has the wheel centre to mudguard lip. I also found it to be spot on for the front and 54mm to high for the rear!
As for extending the rebound distance (by longer shocks) I did read somewhere (but cant find it now) that bump and rebound are not to be altered. Means you really should only use stock shocks. LOL

Thaks for clarifying, and yes that's completely retarded in it self using a point that completely compress as a baseline, means travel figures are complete bs.....
Anyway as with most things QLD transport modification related anyone with a bit of logic behind them will end up dumbfounded by their rules...
Cheers,
B.
And guess what... Jeep changed the length of the front bumpstops for 2010 models (just the foam bit). They are now longer than the earlier ones. Haha.
just fitted a set of skyjacker nitro 8000 shocks to go with my mopar 2inch springs, cost me $300 from the usa, happy as pie flex is heaps better and ride is smooth
