I pulled the turdy five from the XJ today, bought some truck stands for the task, also picked up some decent d shackles for the Hanson front winch bar and one of those receiver hitches with the d shackle for the rear.

Depending on the availability of my mates van i should be dropping off the d44 either Tuesday or Wednesday arvo for the work to commence.
Also have to give ARB a call tomorrow and harass them about the where abouts of the d44 diff hat !!!.
I'll run drums. I'll just pull what's on the D35 and swap it all over.

I still need to chop the brackets but I'll do that when I get it back.

Cheers
Steve

It looks like the frame of the car is almost 35 inches off the ground in those pics!
with my boomerang shackles (which are WAY too long) its just too tall so i pulled the boomers off and tried stock shackles to no avail. if the wrig wasnt a combo on-road/off-road machine id use them but i think its overkill for my purposes in everyday use. spoze i could try different shackles but i think ill go with a smaller set of RE springs to match the rest of the RE longarm kit (5.5"). and bloody hell, Wooders is closed today so he can buy prezzies for the queen of england. more delays.

Now I really want to see it finished as mine will be 5.5" at the most (the current lift) with 35's Same as you, not a daily driver but I still want to be able to drive to Coffs and Jambo etc.

Cheers
Steve

After fitting a steel bar I lost about 1" and with the winch about 1.5" total. Might look at getting spacers for the time being and either RE 4.5" or 3.5" springs in the long run depending what will make it level.
