I ended up with both snorkel air rams:

I must have a play and see if they are different in the real world.

The paperwork with the air ram says you can reverse the ram if it is extremely dusty or is "very heavy weather", but "the vehicle speed SHOULD NOT EXCEED 25 km/h as it may cause damage to the engine."

I look at the stainless steel tube snorkels (usually on Patrols) with the opening facing backwards and wonder...

The install was done by The 4WD Workshop in Seaford, Victoria.

Cheers

The one on my Commander had the larger ram on. With the widow down there was a gurgle that made engine sound way better

I changed it over to the bigger air ram as per Michael's instructions:

Now I will get to see how the snorkel goes on the Crossover Gathering trip next week.

Cheers

I have the utmost respect for Stu and what he has done for the brand. However, my car was the test mule for the Airflow Commander snorkel. Michael showed me his computations and computer modeling of a variety of shapes and how even a slight change in pipe angle or diameter changed the figures. I'm sorry, but having seen all that, for me snorkel design is function first and form a distant last. No matter how good Stu's intentions, until he can show the science behind his design he should just to stick to lifts and wheels and stuff.
