You're not wrong - I've got crap everywhere - labelled most things and have bags of nuts/screws/bolts tagged as well.
It's only gonna get worse tomorrow - but hopefully I'll have the heater box out by then.

Default But wait, there's more

Finished pulling it apart today.

Finally got the heater box out.

This is the heater box with the top off.
The silver thing in the middle is the AC condenser.
Heater core is obscured on the right.

This is the AC condenser as I pulled it out of the heater box.
Spewin I didn't get a pic while it was still in the box - the amount of junk in there was unbelievable.

I'm going to silicon some fly wire over the air intake under the cowl.

Every time I use my aircon, the passenger footwell floods.
The AC drain in the engine bay always leaked water like it was supposed to but it looks like a lot of water off the condensor doesn't make it to the drain because it has to get over all this junk.
The white foam base the condenser sits in has little channels so the water can run down to the drain - more than half of the little channels were blocked.

No amount of poking a bit of wire up the drain hole in the engine bay was going to clear this.

New heater core/Old heater core

I'll look into getting the old heater core reconditioned -who knows if I'll find a RHD heater core next time I need one?
If it's not practical or too expensive, I'll give it a miss.

Tommorrow I've got to put it all back together - that should be fun
