Have you had those D697's put on...
If so how are they going, are you happy with them and if I may ask how much did you finish up paying for them. I'm currently look at them and have been quoted
$410 each.

Currently in Longreach. We are at the start of a 15,000 km trip.

We have driven on bitumen, gravel, gibber, shale and sandy tracks to get here. The Bridgestones are good. Excellent grip, quiet and hold direction well.

I got them from Bridgestone Direct. They were $390 each plus I got a $10p fuel card back.

They are good ATs and still the only LT in the OEM size.

Now, on to the Savannah Way!

Cheers

Stop it Numb Thumbs. You're making me jealous. 1 year today since we left Katherine after doing Savannah Way to follow it from NT to WA. not nearly as thrilling as the NT section!

Plan a stop at Butterfly Springs but skip the fishing village (can't remember it's name) just up from there.

Here is some feedback on tyres that may be useful.............
Recently fitted Goodyear Duratracs in 265 - 60 -18 ( standard size) to 2015 GC.
We were looking for a tyre that :
1. fitted in the tyre well with no mods or false floor needed.
2. was quiet on the highway
3. could handle desert / outback ( dirt) roads
4. would not make you look like a goose on the first steep/ muddy/slippery/ clay/ hill in the Vic high country.
5. ride smoothly

So far the Duratracs:
1. fit in the spare tyre well
2. At 60-70klm/hr on smooth bitumen there is a noticeable hum, but at 100-110, I cant pick any increase in noise over the standard tyres
3. I'll tell you in a couple of months... but can see no reason for concern.
4. Went out on some pretty steep, greasy, muddy, slop hole tracks with lifted & big tyred Jeep Wranglers & did some of the hills & bogs easier than they did, so really happy with that ! Pretty sure that with a more road oriented All Terrain, I would still be stuck there !
5. Yep, they are a nice soft riding tyre
Paid $370 fitted & balanced

I just pulled the trigger on Bridgestone 697's. See how they go..... $367 fitted/bal. only offered $100 for the OEM Mich Lattitudes though for a trade in. The 697's have to better than the road tyres in the Vic MUD!!
