I suppose that I am the odd one out. Got the full treatment for my JKU. The Inside, outside, electronic rust protection and sound deadening. Sure you'll say I was stupid. But in my defense, I could not resist. The lady that sold me the extras was stunning. Good strategy by the business. But to be honest I am glad I got the treatments.
My advice is to see if you can get the lot for a bargain. Most noticeable is the sound deadening. Some of my mates are amazed at how quiet my ride is.
As for paint protection, had it done on my wife's car some 13 years ago and it still looks great.

Don't worry mate.

At least you don't need to worry as much because you had the works and the sales people are experts in sales and I got to admit they are very tempting.

When I ordered my JKUR, the salesman said to me, "Now before I hand you over to the 'extras' lady, I'll tell you now not to bother with the paint protection or the fabric protection. You're getting a 4wd are you not? You are planning to take it offroad? Just wash and wax regularly yourself. Now if you are just keeping it on the street, then maybe."
I let the lady go through her presentation, even asked a few question to look as if interested. When she finished she asked, "So what do you think?", I just said "No thanks".
Should have seen the look of dismay on her face and the change of tone....Priceless.

Cruel!

I normally have a guilty consious because they are just trying their best to make a living. Will still probably say no because I can't afford it really and all this stuff adds up to a pretty penny, but I don't feel good about saying no.

Well at least we buy Jeeps of them. Still a win for their sales.

don't you believe it, the 'poor salesman just trying to get by' line is a tried and true method used to pry open your wallet.

When I was asked if I wanted it, the girl told me that the good paintwork would guarantee a good resale value down the track. I stopped her there and asked her to come and look at my trade in. She was very impressed at the condition of my 10 year old Subaru Forester (paintwork like new). She said I bet you got a good price for that! I said it depends if you think $1200 is a good price or not. She shut up at that point.

Sent from Tapatalk on a Galaxy S3 all on its own while I was working.
