Hey, isn't Martin Buser from Wasilla? So I guess in your town the Sled Dogs must outnumber the Jeeps 10 - 1

MUSH

Good on you Frank,...the photo's are great.

Marty,

Yeah, Martin Buser lives over in Big Lake. Which is right beside Wasilla. Like a 15 minute drive from my house.

Sled dog racing is pretty big in this area, as you may know. I bet its a 20 to 1 ratio hehehehe

Couple more

These are from St. Lawrence Island. Which is off the coast of Alaska (West) It lays right between Alaska, and Russia. About 150 miles or so from Russia. They flew our drill rig out there on a C-130. We stayed in a camp set up on the Northeast cape. Which is not inhabited. Was in the '50s by the Military. But, all that is left now is cement slabs where the building once were.

Frank,
thought that you might get a kick out of how we run sled dogs 'Down Under'. We only have 1 snow race a year, and that's at Dinner Plain in Victoria. The rest of the time we use wheeled gigs
At Dinner Plain

And with a Wheeled Gig, at Hunter Valley last year.

Hey, I have seen them wheeled idea used up here Hehe. Most of the time in the summer, the sled dog guys will train using their fourwheelers. And have the dogs pull them on the local trails.

So we have the Iditarod.... And you have the Outback Challenge... Want to trade Hehehe

We can see where your coming from Frank. I don't think that we can trade However, some of us have already experienced (volunterring) at the Iditarod, so I guess that you'll have to venture Down Under to experience our 'Outback' Challenge,.

Hehehe. I am planning on it sometime in the future for sure! I am hoping to build this TJ to a degree where if for some odd reason I get a chance, that it could posibly compete in the OBC. Just to have a rig that could run the event would be awesome. Not win, or battle for the top placing, or anything like that. Just to experience the race, and have fun. Of course, I am a VERY long shot away from that right now

Of course as you may know, we have already have had two guys from Alaska (Madizell, who is a friend of mine) and Ed Angel who is also a friend of mine. Greg (Madizell) competed twice. Those guys really broke the ice for traveling to other countrys and competing for Alaska.
