146kW Petrol... is that more than the US get? Just seem to remember that the petrol figures were not so flash.

410nM of Diesel torque. mmmmmm.

Cant wait to drive one of these.

I asked about the MyGig option when ordering this morning and the response was "unsure". It is coming but may not be available in the first batch of vehicles.

I'll take a punt on pricing :

Sport $30,990
Renegade $33,990
Rubicon $39,990

Add $5000 for Unlimited
Add $2000 for auto
Add $2600 for CRD ( NOT Rubicon )

There you go, let's see how far away I am......

$39,990 seems a bit much for a 2dr Rubicon (I hope you punt includes on roads!)

If you go on the US Jeep website a 2dr Rubicon is priced at US$26,750 convert that to Aussie and you get AU$33,894.92.

Since when did that conversion ever get us anywhere over here? Add freight to Aus, import duty (on a price that includes the freight)and GST to any direct price comparison. Add import duty (5% from memory) to the conversion amount, now you are up to at least $35,700. Add GST (that tax on a tax, cos it's on the original cost plus the freight charge plus the import duty plus the wholesaler's margin) and hey presto you are over $40K. Then you get the "on road costs" add another 5%"stamp duty" in Vic. Makes $39,990 sound a pretty good guess to me.

In order to make our vehicles more competitive they lowered the tarriffs and added the taxes, what a great scheme. It's taxes what's killing the price of cars over here.
