Ok....will spruik it again....add 250-500ml of Moreys Oil Stabilizer to your next oil change....if there's already a 'lil'l rattle' as you say...lean towaads the 500ml end of the scale...guarantee your engine will 'quieten down', temps will run cooler, oil will stay 'good' longer....I have an old V8 Rangie with over 500k on the clock (probably closer to 700k but who knows...genious that owned it previously 'tried' to wind the speedo back but broke the 'mileage' clock)....I add 1lt. at every change...10k services....can tell when service is getting near cause the engine internals 'sounds' start to become apparent...only ever so slightly but Im an engine nut and can hear something aint 'sweet' before it appears as an issue....try it...about $20/lt. at any auto store...will give you that extra 100k your looking for and save you a heap of $$$$'s

A rattle is also a sign it may need a small top up, when mine gives a rattle it will often need about 250ml and its back on the mark and shuts up, ( mostly when getting near an oil change) also let it run a little bit before motoring off, just gets the juice distributed fully..... I only mean like fire up engine, put on seat belt, wriggle bum in seat then drive off............ same at shut down, let it run while you apply hand brake and unbuckle, then shut down, never stop and key off.......... that way things stabilise, oil, coolant and electrics.......

Lol mate...with the temps droppin to just above O here recently...I CANT move mine for a few minutes....no bum wriggle n buckle up n things are ready for action....have to let it idle and the MOREYS MIX in the buggered tranny 'thin out a bit' to be able to move without resembling the sound track, and physical action, of a 1958 Massey Ferguson on its way to bring the cows in for milking...have always 'idled down' when pulling up...even with petrol engines...non turbo....just gives everything a chance to settle....makes sense

Hey Pete you need to mount a hair dryer under the beast and have it turn on with a timer 30 mins before departure..... but then you would forget about it and drag it and your power point down the road behind you..........lol,lol,lol...
You going to be lost when you get a gear box with oil not treacle ...........

Yeah, I molly coddle my Jeep too...always warm it for a minute or two on start to get the oil circulating before heading off, then same at shut down, let it idle for a bit to stabilise temps...especially so after towing...

Will take away all the excitement on long drives(not knowing if its gonna shyte itself) and in the early mornings, just having that peaceful 2-3mins is enjoyable...only ever 'towed' one powwr lead...was 'dressing up' the campertrailer for sale and had it in front of the shed instead of where it usually resided...final go through with vacuum cleaner....folded it down, locked it all up, hooked up n went for a quick blast round the block to check I had adjusted the brakes correctly for its bon voyage trip to Adel...got 3/4 of the way round the block turning off the Eyre Hwy into my street....quick look in mirror to check for wheel lock as I stabbed the brakes....'Whats that draggin behind the bloody trailer ?'......OOPS.....drive 30m down the street to clear the National Highway of the power lead...then start thinkin...'geezus...I wonder what Ive pulled out the shed when I drove off ?'.....luckily, it had pulled clear of the power socket on the rear wall and dragged clear of anything of value....blessed....in a way
