So I want this to be a thread that can help others wanting to do similar things to their jeep.
Here is some xtra info.
So I got the call yesterday from customs saying my Iron rock offroad order is set to land on monday.
And this is the info I got:
So my order from Ironrock was just under $4000 with shipping. I thought maybe import duty and fees would come to around $350 - 400.
Nope. $620. Luckily I had budgeted for a worst case senario.
Man they sting you.
So for others wanting to do the same, budget for at least 20% of your order going in xtra to clear from customs.
All my gear is due to land on my door step on wed.

That is exactly as it has always been since GST. On $4000 they first hit you with a customs duty of 5% = $200. Then they hit you with GST on both. So $4200 + 10% GST = $420. So your $620 is what is completely normal and should have been no surprise.

Sorry for me ignorance but does this apply to all orders from the states or is there a cut off eg orders below a certain $ mark?

Anything $1000 & above incurs these charges , to avoid this I have my orders broken up to keep them under the $1000
