Default No towbar. No results

Haven't updated for a while.
Jeep have wiped their hands of this.

We have our HR tow bar back but not fitted. The lightweight cross member ( which is a tow bar without out a hitch) is still on our vehicle and Berwick Jeep Chrysler Dodge are refusing to remove it and reinstall our HR tow bar.
All the information relating to this recall N46 is available online to the dealers
if they had bothered to look it up, we could have signed an indemnity and kept our HR tow bar.

They have effectively rendered our tow vehicle useless to us. all in order to protect themselves from litigation (which is all they seem to care about).

If you use your jeep for towing. stay clear of this recall until they come up with a solution for the CUSTOMERS and not just to protect themselves. and please feel free to mention our negative experience with Berwick Jeep Chrysler Dodge to your dealer. and please COMPLAIN.

Sorry to hear you had that experience mate the HR bars are near identical to the Mopar bars and not one that I have inspected has failed any clearence issues I havnt removed anyones towbar there is no need , I just re-torque the bolts and send em out , did they give the bolts back as I dont think the bolts in the crash bar are rated so rip it off and refit your bar or bring to me and ill do it for you .

Chrysler Jeep Australia was profitable right through the Amercan parent company troubles during the financial crisis - and its over the top margin on parts, and dodging claims is part of the strategy.

Don't deal with them if you can avoid it.

Interesting reaction from the local auto industry to the idea of allowing Australians to buy cars directly from manufacturers (even online). Bypassing local distribution businesses like Chrysler Jeep Australia would produce significant savings ( no more dealer delivery charges for a car wash). They are absolutely rabid about killing off this idea. Think of it, buy the car you want online, you pick it up from a customs agent, and away you go.

Hi everyone.

Im just wondering if i don't have a tow bar on my kj. (not sure if i will install one later on or not.) should I go and fit a cross member or wait for few month and see how things go. I was hoping to get a free OEM tow bar and put my kj in good use.

thanks.

Awesome, hope it shakes up their comfortable little racket. Nothing against profitable businesses, but bad service and high prices is tainting a great product and brand locally in my view. Not to mention the watered down models we get (or ones we don't get at all). Hope it all changes.

That's what I'm going to do, don't fancy wasting a day messing about. Got a perfectly fine bar already and chances of diesel lighting up in a crash is pretty low as I understand it.

Still haven't received a letter anyway.
