I put in my catch can a while ago but only now have i measured how much it produced.
On a trip just over 5000k & towing a camper weighing about 1700kg & not babying the jeep, i got 125ml. Seems ok with 90000k on the jeep.
Is this about the normal amount?

I have just completed 5000km and collected 150ml.

Car has done 42k and I use Mobil ESP 5w/30.

I wonder why you couldn't or wouldn't vent the catch can to atmosphere instead of plumbing it back into the intake? Seems even the best catch can will still allow some oil to pass into the intake, so why not eliminate the possibility?

Coz most people don't like oil spots on their driveway, mines vented to atmosphere and there's a nice set of stains under my jeep . I do have clean intake pipes though.

Hi, recently bought the Flashlube can and was wanting to know if anyone has removed the original hose from the Inlet manifold/hose end. It has a strange hose clamp on it and didn't want to damage anything, looking for a tip on getting it off. Cheers

Hey Markus,
I recently installed a Flashlube on my WK2. The original hose clamps on the PCV hose ends are clamped on, use once and throw away items. If you place a flat bladed screwdriver into them you can expand the metal band no worries. The weirdo plastic hose connector on the front of the engine is another matter. you need to squeeze the plastic ring nearest the engine to release the fitting...a small screwdriver helps in levering it out. To save using a shitload of idiotic reducers and elbows...I used 19mm hose to hook up the catch can. The engine side of the hose connections is 22mm but if you use a couple of sockets around that diameter, heat the 19mm hose and force the sockets in with a bit of lube, let it sit overnight....you end up with preformed perfect hose. the 19mm oil resistant rubber hose I used was pretty stiff so I used one plastic 90 degree elbow from the inlet side to the catchcan mounted on the side of the air box.
