So far it costs about 550 a year in road tax and we aren't getting any friendlier to old diesels. I might try to get this injector replaced under warranty and see how it goes. Will keep you updated. Thanks again !

The innjectors are different part numbers so you need to be a little careful here.

I'd suggest getting the Bosch or MB part number off of the injector and search for that just to be sure.

Not sure if it applies to your engine but its worth looking into injector programing. In my eco diesel if you replace the injector you have to enter its number so that its fuel is compensated

This is important and makes a big difference in my experience. You can set/check the injector classification in WJDiag Pro.

I do worry that the classification isn't right with a reman injector though.

Thanks all.

To clarify, i tried reprogramming the injector (none of the possible codes changed anything).

A new injector arrived this morning. Ill install it later this week or next and keep you posted.

For those of you following along, i also ordered a new EGR valve. I broke the EGR valve with a crow bar trying to remove the original one for cleaning "while i was in there".

Ill let you know how it goes. Thanks all for your help.

The best thing you can do with the EGR is delete it with the simple electronic circuit that most of us here have used.
